Attack on Zafar Iqbal, Professor of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Sylhet has shocked me. In the year 1998 there was an International Workshop at SUST and I with Scientists from USA, UK, Canada was a member of International Technical Committee of noted Workshop. During that Workshop I met Professor Iqbal first time. In another seminar on ‘Computer and School Mathematics Teaching’ organized by the Department of Computer Science I was a speaker with him. I was charmed with his knowledge, energy and enthusiasm. How nice looking dynamic a person - I saw.
My relatives in Bangladesh had presented me number of books for my children and two books for me. Writer of the books for my children was Professor Iqbal and mine was Humayun Ahmed. My relatives there told me Zafar Iqbal and Humayun Ahmed are brothers. Humayun Ahmed was legendary author. Science books written by Zafar are most popular like novel. Since then I am also fond of books written by Zafar Iqbal.
Hope, you will recover soon.
